This was my second Vietnam unit reunion.   This year, I was relaxed since I now had a reunion under my belt.  It was good to see my friends from last year.  I also had time to visit with others that I did not know well.  There were a couple guys that were attending their first reunion.

After the 7-hour drive, I checked into the hotel and went to the hospitality room.  By then it was dinnertime and a show.  That evening we saw a 70’s show. Finally, I moved into my room.

Sightseeing was up to the individual.  The first full day I went to Eureka Springs, Arkansas.  I walked around the historical downtown.  Blue Springs was about 10 miles away.  There were flowers and scenery to photograph.  I took a tour of a cave on the way back.

The second day I went to the Veterans Memorial Museum and rode the “ducks”.  There was a large group of us with the ducks tour.  Middle afternoon, I was interviewed for the Veteran History Project.  The interview lasted about an hour – and I was emotionally drained.  I took a walk in a national forest to clear my head.

Thursday was the Golf Outing.  The weather was hot and humid so 9 holes was called a day for the golfing. I spent the time taking pictures.

I spent a busy day Friday.  Morning was taking pictures at trap shooting.  The afternoon I made a short tour of Silver Dollar City.  On the way back to the hotel it was quick view from Inspiration Tower.  That evening a group of us went to Dixie Stampede.

Saturday was a early morning for fishing.  I took the time to relax – not a lot of fishing.  About the time I was taking pictures, a fish decided to bite.  The afternoon, I took time to work on pictures and camera preparations.  It was business meeting and time to take pictures of the “mug shots”.  Last for the agenda was the banquet.

Sunday morning I did not stay for the farewell breakfast – I had a house full at home.  I would like to see more of the guys I knew.  Guess I will have to spend more time working to get them to attend next year.

Thanks to everyone – especially Hank, Mel, Don, & Kathy – for a great time in Branson.

Notes:

A few words on reunion photographs.  I took "group" photographs for the touraments. There are also some pictures I took or scanned group shots at activities.  I had planned to posting a "sign-up" sheet for those wanting 8 x 10 prints of the group photos.  But, the sheet was removed during banquet preparations.  Please contact me if you wish enlargements and/or a CD of all the pictures.
