From the Boyhood Farm we went to the Georgia Welcome Center, the Plains High School (Museum & Visitor's Center) and "downtown" Plains, GA.  Be sure to sample the fried peanuts at the shops in Plains.  Also worth the time is a walk through the Plains Hotel (access through the antique store at the West end).  Each room is decorated in motif of a different decade.

Next we drove up to Andersonville, GA to the National POW Memorial and Museum.  Andersonville was the site of a large Civil War POW camp.  The grounds include relics of the POW camp as well as monuments from various states and the Andersonville National Cemetery. Take the time to start your visit by watching the short movie in the museum theater.
