When the 199th LIB colors came "home" from Vietnam, they were retired at Ft. Benning, GA.  Across from the Infantry Museum at Ft. Benning is a memorial to the 199th Light Infantry Brigade - those who served and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.  On Friday morning we paid our respects at the Memorial.

Following a brief service at the memorial and some group photos, we were on our own.  Most toured the Infantry Museum.  On the 3rd floor is a considerable amount of 199th memorabilia.

That evening, dinner was at the Port Columbus National Civil War Naval Museum.  Robby Gouge, Author of "These Are My Credentials" a book about the 199th and his father displayed a portion of their 199th collection. One of the museum staff spoke after dinner, talking about the museum and some of the important naval battles of the civil war.
