For some time, a printer was just an output device needed to produce a hard copy.  Even with my photos, I would send them out for printing.  I still do that for normal prints.  I cannot beat the price of 8x10 and larger prints from a printer like Sam's Club.  And, they do a good job - at lease my local Sam's Club does.

But when I want to produce "art", I want more control.  I need to make the prints myself.  The printers have become an integral part of my digital darkroom.

HP Photosmart Plus B209a

This is a 3-in-one machine.  That is, printer, copy, scanner.  Purchased this device at the same time I purchased my photography laptop.

This is mostly used on the road.  Great to have the printer and scanner in the hotel room during a multi-week trip.

Also used for 4x6 prints.
