Yosemite National Park is located in the Sierra Mountains in East Central California. The park is approximately 200 mile East of San Francisco. It is very important to NOT bring any foodstuffs into the park, specially Yosemite Valley.  Bears can smell the food and will tear apart a vehicle to get at it.

Mariposa Grove is a stand of Sierra Redwood trees.  The grove is located near the South Entrance of the park.

Glacier Point overlooks the Yosemite Valley.  It is a bit of a drive up the Glacier Point road but worth the drive.  You'll find a large group of tourist and photographers here for sunset.

Yosemite Valley is the heart of Yosemite National Park.  Once in the valley, park your car and take the shuttle to the various locations in the valley.  You may wait for the shuttle but it will be faster than finding parking each place you want to visit in Yosemite Valley.

Tuolumne Meadows is on Route 120 near the Tioga Pass entrance to the park.  Take a walk along some of the paths. The climate here is alpine so the flora is completely different than in the valley.
